I will never forget that day. I was working in downtown Baltimore and our trade center was threatened with a plane. Walking to my car sobbing cause I couldn't call my mom😔

My mom was also flying home (to Cleveland) from Chicago that morning and was in the airport as well! I was sitting in school and when I heard about the planes I was so scared because I knew she was flying. Ugh. That day is so clear in my brain

My mom is a survivor of tower 1. My dad & I had just dropped her off at work shortly before 8am. It’s a day that will live with me forever. Glad to hear they were safe!

My mom was flying from Philly to Orlando at 8:30am on 9/11 - the pilot dropped altitude and flew out over the ocean. They ended up landing in Jacksonville but president bush was there that morning and it was chaos. They rented a car and drove straight back to Philly

My dad was a captain for American and was flying that day, 3 days before retirement. It was almost 18 hours after the attacks before we got to talk to him. That whole time we had no idea if he was okay or not. Turns out he was diverted to Toronto and it was hours before he could deplane, find a phone and get through to us from a landline. Honestly, I’m 54 years old now, and I’m still not okay from that day.

Grew up with your parents at church for a solid majority of my most of teen years at Wickline and have never heard this story. Absolutely insane. I’m sure your dad used this in a sermon at some point but I obviously wasn’t listening 😂

We were stuck in Ireland (Dublin) had been over there for a week. No way to contact home. My BIL was a pilot for United Airlines out of PA at the time too. We didn’t know until another 3-4 days if everyone was ok at home or not. We live in Philly- people traveling for work in and out of NY, - pilot BIL- we just didn’t know. It was awful. Flying home a week later was so so emotional, everyone on board was on edge and some were crying.

I was 25 years old working just across the River in NJ on that day. My sister and father were both in the city. My sister was evacuated by boat and my father walked till he found a bus. I am crying. I’ll never forget that day. Ever. And anyone who says J6 was bad needs their head examined.

She brings me back. worked in a control tower in Spain & had a Freedom Bird land packed full of military families heading back to the states from Italy and Bahrain. they all had to sleep in a hangar on the floor. other flights the crews weren't allowed off the acft. we got 💣 threats and had to evacuate the tower. Went remote out in the taxiway. wild times.
