Sons dad has been doing this to him for yrs & my son (15yo now) has caught on to it & told it’s a cycle he has noticed. That his dad disappears & shows up out nowhere hangs with him a few times buys him a ton of things & disappears again. As his mom I know exactly the pattern it’s always shows up around holidays & bday time & that’s it. As my sons said what kind of connection is that?😭 just broke my heart for him & said I am sorry & gave him hugs
