The European farmers didn’t suffer as such. The things they sell to the us, they can just as easy sell other places. As you say - the cheese you get from the eu is unique.

i don't think you have to be overly sorry for the cheese manufacturers. i eat twice as mu h cheese to compensate and its still cheap in germany

I worked in the region for a bit, and they treat that cheese like a house hold staple. Everyone has comte in their fridge. And you eat every day. So freaking good.

actually, the biggest thing I have noticed with the US tariffs is the uncertainty within the US market risk. the world is for the most part doing fine. because the US cannot predict the price of things, it is causing uncertainty but only internally.

then your customers will pass on the price increase to their customers, that's how it works. if they decide to stop buying from you, you need to stop buying from France. that's how it works. France won't care because they have other customers. 😁

I don't think you should worry about EU farmers and cheese makers, there's a lot of demand for cheese domestically (EU, I mean) and other parts of the world so they'll redirect the exports without much issue
