Even demons believe in Jesus. So is “just believing” really enough? The Bible says: “the devils also believe, and tremble.” James 2:19, KJV That verse hits hard. Because many people say: “I believe in Jesus.” But if belief only stays in your mouth, and your life never changes, then there is still a big difference between believing in Jesus and truly following Him. The Lord Jesus never said that simply believing is enough. He said: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Matthew 16:24, KJV Following the Lord will always bring change. But today, many people live in a dangerous condition. Deep down, they know God’s Word is good. But when someone says, “Come and listen to God’s Word,” their heart feels bored, resistant, or too busy. Over time, the heart drifts farther and farther from God. A person may still carry the name of a Christian, but live like someone who does not know God. This is not to condemn you. It is to remind you: If you realize you have not desired God’s Word for a long time, do not stay numb. Come before God and pray: Lord, I admit I have drifted far from You. I have not been interested in Your Word, but I am willing to turn back. I am willing to go against my laziness, my coldness, and my sin, and come close to You again. Please work in my heart. Let me desire Your Word again, and become willing to follow You again. Starting today, choose one time to listen to God’s Word and come close to Him again. See how the Holy Spirit moves your heart.
