@fox9mn: A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter successfully rescued four children who were stranded on an island in northern Minnesota's Lake Superior. The children were stuck on a rock near Silver Bay on Sunday after hazardous conditions prevented them from getting back to shore. The Coast Guard was able to safely airlift the kids back to their waiting parents and the rescue was carried out without any injuries.
Did you know that Marquette hospital treat more cases of hyperthermia in July then in the winter months.

This was preventable. No big journeys on Lake Superior without the knowledge of gear. If you’re going out to islands you should have an experienced individual or guide with. Sea kayaks are the safest for this.
