@studio3lia: stop letting your produce go to waste! here’s how to extend its life for at least 2+ weeks. Here’s a recap ⬇️ Start by making sure everything is CLEAN. I use a splash of white vinegar, and fill the rest of my bowl with warm water. Let it sit for 2-5 mins and then rinse clean. SUBMERGE IN WATER - Celery - Radishes - Carrots - Lemons/limes - Cucumbers (already cut up) DRY AND STORE WITH PAPER TOWEL - lettuce - Any berries - Brussel sprouts (Guys I can’t stress the importance of dry, like it needs to be BONE DRY. The paper towel is there for extra support, but these should be 99.999999% dry before they’re in the jar) IN A VASE LIKE A FLOWER - Cilantro - Parsley - Dill - Green onion - Asparagus Just change the water every few days when you notice it going cloudy, and these will last you for 3+ weeks!!! Also, this should be a given, but definitely don’t go and buy new jars either. for the most part I use old jars from other groceries I’ve bought. Hope this helps! #foodstorage #homelife #organizationtips, #pantrygoals #storageideas

i have a food safety certificate, do FSA every day + work with food at my job and at home every day, this is how we store food properly. "botulism" is a real and dangerous thing, however if you teach yourself about food safety, you can avoid it. you did a good job!!!

for all the botulism fear mongering comments: 1) this is stored in reverse osmosis purified water. 2) the water is changed x2 a week. 3) i understand you can store it dry but I find this helps keep the crunch for as long as possible. 4) this is in my fridge for MAX 3 weeks. 5) this makes me more likely to eat my veggies like can a girl live 🫤

water is bad for strawberries, and washing them makes them rot faster. it's why strawberries farmers hate it when it rains. only wash them moments before you eat them so they last longer in your fridge

there’s literally no risk to storing things inside water in the fridge as long as it’s getting changed every couple days and even then the most you’re preventing is mold… where is everyone getting botulism from 💀💀💀

If you put the paper towel on the top and store it upside down in the fridge you can swap out the towel if it gets gross 😌
