@gnosticrealms: I highly recommend incorporating your players' character backstories into your world. What they come up with doesn't have to pertain to the plot either. It can just be a fun thing to help flesh out the world or add a new depth to a particular area/subject. Maybe you will even get a cool new story arc idea for the party to explore. Encouraging your players to make a backstory will also help them feel more immersed in your world. They are your players at your table... its ok to let them claim a piece of it. 🥰 What are some fun or epic backstories you have come across at the table? 😊 #dnd #dungeonmaster #ttrpg #homebrew #fyp
I have my Warhammer 40K obsessed DM control of the backstory of my character in our mobile suit gundam campaign. it's terrifying and I have no regrets

My players are mixed bag. i have one if that doesn't give any backstory at all, one that i'm just fine, gave me a very rigid one with little wiggle room, and two who gave me some vague backstories with freedom.
Dms help me. how do I help support the one PC with rigidity.
