People don’t understand electric companies always cheat you. They literally add power to you bill to increase or keep you bill the same year round. I was away from my house for over a month and prior to leaving I had turned off everything and unplug power and I still get charged as if I was there the whole time. I called and had to fight it for a week.

ya know, i find it weird that if you go file a complaint for like a illegal tow, or renters getting scamed from the home owner, it seem to be the same story that the police will say its a civil issue, but yet if you get creative and get free electricity, it becomes a police matter

I know it’s wrong. Alabama power has a month out of the year when bills are spiked. The time of year it happens is when there property taxes are due and they are the largest land owners in Alabama. Just saying

and Baxley is the site for one of the largest power plants in the state...power companies are a monopoly, if they'd quit increasing the rates people could afford it.

Unpopular opinion but. She knew she was stealing, she may have been getting money sent to her but let’s face it they were stealing it for over 3 months. That money more than likely wasn’t gonna be used for lights. Yes there are 2 other adults living at the house but it’s still not right to steal. No matter if yall want to say she’s on a fixed income or not. I know exactly how much my paycheck is gonna be each week and it’s not much but I also know what I can afford and what I can’t. Comes down to it my phone is gone before my lights are cut off. The cop gave her the chance to get her car home and she messed around thinking the cops would just leave. They have a job to do in order to pay their light bills too or guess what. They gonna be without lights if they don’t pay.
