When I was like 23 I was homeless just recently clean off of very hard drugs. All I had ever wanted to be since I was six years old was an aerospace engineer. But I didn't even have a home. It's 13 years later and I'm now getting my PhD in aerospace engineering. Things happen slowly you have to enjoy life now, but making tiny steps towards your goal is so possible

In 2019, I was so sick I had to stop working and I had never been so low. This year I bought a house, I have a 2 year old with my husband. Like the lows were in hell but there’s always a chance for it to get better.

I was working as a bookkeeper, HATING my job, everything. I was 27, broke and aimless. I took a class at a local community college and six years later, I had a graduate degree from Stanford and now I’m an English lit prof teaching classes on reality TV, making six figures and enjoying five months a year off. Follow your bliss and doors will open for you that you never knew existed.

I feel like a common thing I see in all these "I turned my life around" stories is they all start with "I was living at my parent's house" or "My partner had to take on the bills". When you have a stable home you can take risks and put yourself out there cause you'll only fall so far if it doesnt work out.

5 years ago i was a server going to food banks and barely affording rent in a flooding basement. now im 3 yrs into my *career,* with my own apartment, and ive never even come close to missing a payment. hell, 10 years ago i didn't think id live more than another 3 years. things change 💯
