Owning both, they neglect to mention the HK weighs 2 pounds more than the M4, has HK proprietary magazines and requires a special tool to dissemble it. Great rifle but would chose a Daniel Defense M4 any day (half the cost and extremely reliable).

They basically just took the AR design and added a piston in place of the direct impingement system. Not “completely different beasts” at all.

Both rifles need regular cleaning and maintenance. The M4 is easier to clean and lighter than the 416. That matters when you carry it all day.

I helped test this rifle against SAW variants for the marine corps for a month in the field during the winter in 29 Palms. The bolt carrier group is also used as a tool to take apart most of the rifle. It’s got 2MOA at 300 yards too, pretty dope.

That HK416 is like $3500 to $4k Colt M4 is more like $900 to $1200. Also I only buy the Colt M4 not Springfield or any other fake M4. Colt M4 is reliable.
