But for me I look for the next dog that needs me, the one my last dog sends to me, so I can give that dog all the love that's been displaced 🫶 You're never replacing your passed loved ones, you're only making them proud of you. It always makes me feel better but you will still cry somedays and hurt sometimes. But that new dog that your old dog sent? sounds crazy. get a stuffy. like a build a bear or something similar or one of the big ones from like Amazon or Walmart, but something the close to same color as him. put it in the landing every morning. talk to it like you talked to him on occasions when it's bad. take it upstairs with you at night... it doesn't make the hurt stop, but it sometimes brings peace.

It’s been two months & I cry daily still. The routine really really eats you up in those first few weeks, the habits you’ve had for years that are suddenly gone. I started a new “routine” to stay sane. It still comes in waves. I still miss him constantly. But it’s a little easier to breathe. Some people recommend fostering, but another dog in the house feels like a stab in the heart to me.

My dog passed Monday. I remember one night last week i was having a real bad day and just wanted to be left alone. He followed me down the hallway and I closed the door so he couldn’t get in. I remember hearing his putter patter as he walked away. If I would have known it was one of the last times I’d cuddle him i would have later with him all night and day . Im sorry roro baby 💔

i lost my boy 3 weeks ago. but i actually have an appt with the shelter for a pup tomorrow 🥰 i know he’d want me to, it was always my dream to start a rescue and have a ton of friends for him. so i know he’d want me to save another pup when i have the love and space to spare, plus i think training her will help me heal ❤️but if you asked me that first week, i would’ve told you to just bury me next to him. it never gets easier, but doing things in their memory makes the loss hurt a little less
