@clarkybateman: Why would you ever seek out anything positive in your life or anything that brings you happiness for fear of losing it? Do we just live to die? Why love to experience heartbreak, why experience joy just to feel sorrow, why gain something just to feel loss? Does hope prolong suffering? The truth lies in learning to overcome those losses, more and more. When you experience enough loss you begin to understand that life goes on, you’ll find your way once more and that it’s never the end. I don’t fear loss anymore, I’d rather experience things as they come to me, even if I know that the happiness I feel is going to be over at some point. If anything, that should be all the reason to remain hopeful for experiencing it once more. If our lives were given to us to exist linearly, we would simply live just to die. To experience is to be human.
