As a single person with no kids, the friend can give up ONE Saturday night to hang out with someone she really cares about. It's not every weekend, it could be once a month even. I also couldn't imagine never wanting to see my friend's kid

I feel people with kids always want a village without ever putting in effort to be a villager. it's give and take. maybe if you offered once in a while to hire a baby sitter to go out with your friends they'd offer more to sit in with you. that's what me and my friends with kids do

Yeah, my single friends abandoned me completely once I had a child and they chose to not ever visit even though I never offered Fridays or Saturdays. I am in peace with myself because I didn’t ruin those friendships.
