Here’s how it works: • For a boy: take mom’s height + dad’s height, add 5 inches, then divide by 2. • For a girl: take mom’s height + dad’s height, subtract 5 inches, then divide by 2. That number gives us your child’s projected adult height range—roughly 70% accuracy taking into account about 2 inches either way (one standard deviation). Of course, genetics, nutrition, health, and even sleep all play a role. But this formula gives us a ballpark idea of where your child might land on the growth chart.
