@cbsnewyork: Several New York physicians are speaking out against what they say are inhumane conditions at an immigration holding facility at 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan. Doctors from the New York Doctors Coalition attempted to access the facility to assess health conditions but were denied entry. They described the site as overcrowded, unsanitary, and a “place of health abuse.” A federal judge has issued a temporary restraining order prohibiting ICE from detaining individuals in spaces smaller than 50 square feet per person and mandating improvements such as sleeping mats, hygiene products, and access to medical care.
