@gen.z.motherhood: Don’t let people lie to you that birth is inherently bad. A calm, low intervention birth IS possible and should be encouraged #calmbirth #naturalbirth #pregnancy #birthtips #birthplan
My midwife said “when most people go to the hospital, it’s because something is wrong. But when you go to give birth, nothing is wrong, but they treat you like something is”

Also how women are dismissed for their symptoms for being "normal" not getting time off work before/afterwards. I feel like we took the time to understand birth and pregnancy better... we'd have a better outcome from the experience instead of being traumitized.

I am 19wks but they are already pushing for induction at 37wks because of "high blood pressure." I am 120s/80s in the clinic. 110s/70s at home. but they're pulling BP data from recent ER visits when it was high. Im pregnant and bleeding in the ER! of course I am going to have high BP! its so unfair.

My boyfriend called me crazy when I told him I wanted to do a natural birth and said I'm not "tough enough" fo it. So don't mind me while I show him this video ans laugh about being right yet again 😏

Hi friend!! Labor and Delivery nurse here!! I do just want to add however that even though you are not more likely to have a post partum hemorrhage or shoulder dystocia at home, IF these things do occur you and your infant are more likely to have significant damage or die if your birth is at home. I have experienced A TON of births and they are beautiful however some of our low risks mamas that would have been perfect candidates for a home birth hemorrhage or have a dystocia. Luckily since we are at the hospital and have a ton of resources we were able to ensure healthy patients but TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE in those circumstances!! So please educate on the risks of home birth as well!! I’m so happy your natural birth went well for you but trust me that is not everyone’s story and we have had plenty of failed home births come into the hospital!!

I feel like I can’t even talk about this with most of the people that I know because they’ve all had high intervention births- signed someone who has had one high intervention birth and two unmedicated birth’s out of the hospital 😅

I would have agreed with you until I had my youngest 11 days ago. my first 3 were great, calm births. #4 decided to come out face presenting and it was truly painful. I still had a successful homebirth, but it was scary and I was sure my insides were tearing.

I screamed from the strep B swab…. I have the lowest pain tolerance of anyone I’ve ever met…. Definitely need the epidural… was not told I needed it by medical professionals… just knowing myself and my mother knowing me.

What are your thoughts about getting pitocin after birth? Is it common for women to get it right after?

Yes on everything. Doctors medicalized birth, when it’s really just a natural bodily function. I was SO prepared for a natural birth and ended up with pre-e, abrupted placenta, hemorrhage, and my baby in the NICU. All this happened because of the Cytotec, not the pre-e!

I am so excited for my November home birth as a ftm 💛 I know it will be challenging, but a natural, beautiful experience! I’m so grateful that I found this information out years before having children. Thanks for spreading the word.

I agree with you because my second baby I didn’t know I was in labor until my body was pushing😂 this was at home. I really is a mind game too when it comes to labor

Well… all the high risk people are already going to the hospital so saying a home birth isn’t more dangerous wildly inaccurate because if all the high risk moms birthed at home there’d be a lot more deaths.
