@crashcourse: Native American history starts way before 1492, and doesn't mysterious end by 1900. They been around since time immemorial, and are still here today. #nativetok #history #chejim
The way I have to explain that as a Mexican I’m native. Yes I’m black, my father is. My mother is Mexican, that’s the family I grew up with. I danced our traditional dances as a child and I up hold our ancestors practices. We may not be northern native Americans like the Lakota but we are from Mexico, and Mexico is part of turtle island

The way we teach world history in the US is so strange. Rome, Greece, Egypt and then there is a 1000 year gap until 1492. So much happened in the Arab world and North America during that time! It's so fascinating, I don't know why we skip it.

Southern Arizona contains an alluvial plain and flooding is spoken about in that area in native creation stories.

I like to joke that most of our stories are based around gossip, even though we have a teaching and story that tells how “we don’t gossip, we speak the truth” 😂
