![Due to popular demand, herewith some more Pitti impressions from the @alexanderkraft.montecarlo Tailgating Party at @villavittoriafirenze … Instead of describing the event myself, I let French fashion authority @gillesdenis speak who perfectly captured the atmosphere in a big article about @pittiuomo_official that France’s biggest news magazine @lepointfr published a few days ago (loosely translated from the French original text): « … And then there are moments that offer an escape of the hard realities of this world and the constant clash of extremes, that are as sweet as the dream they evoke. During the magical blue hour, nestled in the secrecy of a Florentine garden, we witness gentlemen in soft leather loafers, white trousers, double-breasted jackets, their shirts open at the third button and sometimes with a cigar in their hands - a mixture of timeless fashion and Italian Pitti Uomo sprezzatura. They’re genuinely enchanted to be there, moving between the classic cars that sit like sculptures on the grass, including a vintage Ferrari, a Bentley convertible and an incredible customized green Volvo estate car. They happily chat away, a glass of Kraftoni in hand. Kraftoni? The special version of the classic Negroni created by Alexander Kraft, the man who is hosting this Pitti Uomo highlight, and who has been presenting his artisanal collections for next summer in his personal palazzo in Oltrarno - the quarter of real Florentines, on the other side of the Arno. The German-born aesthete does more than dreaming of Gatsby: he lives and breathes Gatsby.
