I was on Amtrak Kalamazoo to Chicago. Train died. I ended up meeting some new friends and we shared an uber into the city. Some super fun angel special ed teachers from Detroit. Our uber stopped at a liquor store for us - they had me drinking Patron 🎉❤️

I was on the Wolverine on St. Patrick’s day, I think it was 1997, and an ice storm knocked out all the signal lights. It took 13 hours to get from Ann Arbor, MI to Union Station in Chicago.

Honestly, Battle Creek is less than 2 hours away from where I live, I would have walked to the nearest road and gotten picked up by a family member ☠️

This has to be the Wolverine train. I have been through so much on that damn train. Stranded in a snow storm, no A/C on 100° day, and more. I refuse to ride this train ever again. Learned my lesson 15 yrs ago.

Battle Creek is the trade off point for conductors. I've been stuck there for 3 hours heading eastbound before Thanksgiving. My 8pm destination didn't get in until 1am

I went to Chicago in June via Amtrak, had no problems. my friends, who were supposed to take the same train but the day after me, got their trip cancelled completely and had to drive in from kzoo.
