Now, just over a week later, she’s scheduled to be euthanized on June 3 at 2 PM—because she has a treatable cold and the shelter is out of space. She’s been labeled urgent and adoptable with a medical waiver. Her symptoms? Sneezing and green nasal discharge. That’s it. She’s on Doxycycline, eating and drinking normally, alert and responsive. During this short time, Shawnee hasn’t shown anything but sweetness. She’s young, gentle, and just needs a place to rest and recover. But unless someone steps up, her life will end before she ever gets that chance. 💔 This is not how a young, treatable, adoptable dog’s story should end. Not for a cold.
