I’ve been saying for years that while men accuse women of being a monolith, they’re actually the ones dying for homogeny. That’s why you see groups of men whose wives look alike. The chance that 4-7 men all have the same type feels statistically improbable, but they’re too afraid to go for the women they’re actually attracted to because they’re worried about the ridicule of their friends. They have very specific hobbies they’re “allowed” to be involved in, and if they deviate from the “acceptable” hobbies they’ll be ridiculed by the other men in their circle.
