Rep. Nicole Collier was unlawfully detained in the TX House after refusing to sign a “permission slip” to be escorted everywhere. Under Art. III, Sec. 10 of the TX Constitution, breaking quorum is 100% legal. Locking her in without food or freedom of movement is not. Proud she’s suing this is unlawful detention, plain and simple. I applaud and fully support her decision to bring a lawsuit. She is absolutely entitled to defend her and her constituents rights. What happened to her crosses a line, and she’s right to challenge it. This is not just resistance; it’s a necessary stand for personal liberty and the integrity of representation.
