@papamississippi: Mississippi is getting a $6 billion data center in Brandon—but is it a smart move, or a future headache? In this video, we break down the promises, the risks, and what our leaders should be doing right now to protect our water, energy, and communities. Learn what happened in other towns, like Boardman, Oregon, and why Mississippi still has time to shape this deal for the better. #MississippiNews #DataCenter #BrandonMS #WaterRights #communitypower

The Let's Talk Brandon FB page is blowing up and have your post on there!!! Brandon does NOT need or want this. We already have outrageous water bills in this city and we don't get any guarentee that they will hire MS residents for those 60 full time jobs. This stinks!!!

Tate Reeves should look into why other States aren't allowing them to build. I bet he'd change his mind. Well unless they are lining his pockets of course

This is gonna be the thing that kills Mississippi. When the power bills sky rocket and no one can pay their bills they’ll leave. Tate reeves will be one of the very few people that actually benefit from this.

I moved to Canton, MS from Boardman Oregon... the local government did not spend that money on schools. You're not wrong they got millions but the county mismanaged so many things about their negotiations. A lot of the board members are now under federal investigation for screwing over the people.

They do not consume millions of gallons of water a day. They recirculate millions of gallons a day. They run on a closed loop chiller system that also use evap cooling towers for the chillers. There is loss due to evaporation but it is not as much as you’d think. The indoor closed loop requires very little makeup water. I manage a DC and deal with this daily.

I’m confused. Your example of the town in Oregon where they received a ton of community investment. Thank you big corporation for the new streets and schools now poison our air and use all of water and electricity!

Big neighborhoods in Brandon like Crossgates can't even keep their electricity and internet running continuously!!! We lose either or both constantly. Not to mention Brandon pays some of the highest water rates in the state already. We don't have the infrastructure for this mess
