Stop asking him questions and trying to make him remember, it only creates frustration & anger. Unfortunately you just have roll with his stories and join his world.

My husband has dementia and I’ve learned to not try to explain ANYTHING to him, I agree and redirect because it can make you so frustrated and sometimes angry and they won’t remember what was said in the next few minutes

I wish I could speak with you. I feel your pain as you try to make him remember you as his daughter. I'm with you.

I worked with dementia patients for 20something years and what we were talt was, meet them where they are at. Show him old pictures of you and himself . They normally go back in time . This is a very sad disease, almost feels like a mind game… sending prayers to you and remember never argue with him but try redirecting him

Praying for your strength and guidance. It’s so hard being a caregiver for a loved one with dementia. Time provides experience. It was hard for me but once you realize that you have to get into their world, limit the explanations and go with whatever it is they’re saying, it will be much better for them and for you. Please allow yourself some grace and patience. Once you start using various techniques to cope, it will be better.

Praying for strength. If I may ask is your dad diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) ? I see this in younger men your Dad’s age.
