similar job descriptions but different departments, Jesse and James are there for "insurance reasons" ie: those 2 are always there with Ash pulling the world out of certain doom because if the world ends completely there is no money for team rocket to make

reddit says that Jessie and James made that motto themselves and the other team rocket stole it and made some changes with it, so technically Jessie and James motto were the original.

Jessie ans James might have started as bad people. but somehow they accidentally save the world like a few times every season. the boss knows this and keeps them on the payroll and approves all the insane ideas because they keep getting lucky and saving the world

it was actually a theory Giovanni was actually ashes father which being a crime organization leader makes him being missing for years and no communication make sense and Jesse and James are so bad because they are specifically chosen to help ash train on his journey cause you need to be constantly battling to grow stronger they are literally just helping ash and this is also pushed by the fact ash's sad was a pokemon trainer

to me I always saw a different with the original motto it's very clear on what they want power over the world but Jesse and James's motto to me felt more like it was disguising or this obviously lying goodness to it the not outright saying what they truly want but they're disguising it to be something positive which fits a lot more into what kind of villainy they are which is trickster evil not outright overwhelming evil

Though I did watched at least most of the first season of xy and Jessie had frustration on pumpkaboo. I don't know if it never showed up again or if she used more then four different moves with the pumpkaboo meaning frustration got replaced but that was so weird to see

I honestly want a full show about the time after ashes retirement form protagonist where they've dennounced team rocket and are actively shooting it form the inside. There both genuinely decent people and fairly competent when pikachu isnt involved, they could do it.
