Side Show is loosely based the lives of the 1920s/1930s stage performers & conjoined twins, Violet & Daisy Hilton. It opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Oct 16, 1997 and played for 91 shows closing on Jan 3, 1993. It received 5 Tony nominations including a Best Lead Actress nom for both Alice Ripley & Emily Skinner!

This is so heartbreaking, even more so thinking about how when one died the other knew she only had a short time before she herself would be dead. One did leave, but the other one was shortly to leave afterwards. I wonder if that reality reflected which one sang what lyrics of the song?
