Used to work at a dealership. To certify a car, all the techs do is go through a checklist and make sure all software is updated. That’s it. Most techs are lazy and will not do a thorough inspection. But at least there’s warranty!

how did your mechanic know that? did he pull the timing cover (he wouldn't during a prepurchase inspection). btw if that was actually true that cpo warranty would have repaired that for free. I think your mechanic wanted that car

Gold certified is such a scam! I have no problems with the Prius I bought, but they checked off a bunch of things on the inspection that aren’t even relevant to my car…like that they checked and inflated the spare. Found out my car has no spare 🙃

Happen to be at Ed Martin Acura in Carmel Indiana, I had to replace the engine, it was $4600, I paid like 23k for the car, it sucked, never trust any dealer ever, everything they say is a lie, double check everything.
