If you can I would only use the cc for emergencies. In our home we only use debit cards/cash. If we can’t pay for it that way then we can’t afford it. This includes vacations, wants and needs. It seems as though you’re getting back into a negative cycle by using the cards.

NO. The point is if you dont have the CASH to pay for it you cant buy it aka you cant afford it. TREAT CREDIT CARDS LIKE CASH.Only use CC for points and rewards.If you cant do that trust me increasing your budget to $500 will NOT help.

We paid off our credit cards, closed them so we don’t use them again and budget $150 every weekend for FUN for both of us. Paid off like $40k in debt and still went on a 2week vacation in July

I work in finance, and am super disciplined. I will say, if you aren’t super regimented with using your credit card like a debit card and paying it off in full every month (I pay mine off every time I get paid) DO NOT use a credit card. You will get yourself into debt every time. Just allocate funds to a separate bank account specifically for “fun”
