unpopular opinion but lyanna doesn't haunt the narrative at all actually. rhaegar haunts the narrative because of his repercussions on both robert, cersei and jon and elia haunts the narrative because of what happened to her and her children. lyanna is mourned but she doesn't haunt.

I think out of Lyanna and Elia, Elia haunts the narrative more as Lyanna's death and story didn't serve or influence anyone within the story at the present time whereas Elia is haunting her family and Martells are quite literally so present within the story because of Elia and Oberyn's death were linked to Elia's death and a vengeance for her and Sandsnakes plot were also an indirect consequence of her death.

Her death haunts Jamie,the only person that never saw Tyrion as a monster, is part of the reason Ned died, Robert's reign begins with her death she's hated by Cersei. Murdered by Tywin. Oberyn died trying to avenge her. The entire Dornish plotline is revenge for Elia and her children. Her son might still be alive, the actual son Rhaegar thought was TPTWP, not Jon Snow who is a second son at best and when Dany has dragon dreams she doesn't see Lyanna with Rhaegar, she sees Elia after having Aegon.
