@oncosmos: Voyager 2 images of the Great Red Spot A detailed view highlighting one of the three long-lived White Ovals located just below the Great Red Spot. Taken on June 29, 1979, when Voyager 2 was about 9 million miles (≈ 14.5 million km) from Jupiter, it resolves features as small as ~170 km across . Another frame from July 3, 1979, capturing the Great Red Spot and surrounding cloud structures.
