@leahhopehealth: Less than 24 hours after I was out of surgery, I was already back with the @Advanced Lipedema Treatment program team for my post op appointment! During this appointment Pearl took off my compression so I could see my legs, she did decongestive therapy on my legs and also cleaned me off to get ready to get me all wrapped up again! Michelle also hooked me up to an IV so that I was as hydrated as possible and took my vitals to make sure I was feeling and recovering well. Post op swelling can sometimes mask the results and that’s why the decongestive therapy and compression are essential to bring down that swelling and to remove the anesthetic fluid that was used to numb me for surgery. I’m going to be real with you… these appointments with the post surgical decongestive therapy are one of the most painful parts of the whole process. It’s incredibly uncomfortable, but it’s only temporary pain and it helps my overall healing and recovery. And yes, I do take pain medication before my appointment to prepare! I do think the fact that a post op massage is the most painful part of the process is actually encouraging overall though! 😉 It has been so special to be able to build relationships with the whole Advanced Lipedema Treatment program team throughout my surgeries this year! They take such amazing care of me and are so incredibly supportive of me and my journey! And I’m honored to have had the chance to work with @drariamd for both of my lipedema surgeries on my legs. He’s kind, gentle and incredible at what he does! I always appreciate how much he checks in with me post surgery to make sure I’m doing well and see if I have any questions. I feel so taken care of by him! I truly couldn’t have asked for a better team to be a part of this journey with me! #DrAriaMD #ALTProgram #Partner *All surgeries come with risks and everyone has to decide what is best for them.
Thank you for being so open and transparent and documenting the process

What pants were you wearing walking around? I’m having surgery in November and am concerned about quick and big pull on pants.

My surgical team advised me to use period pads as well to catch fluid when my surgical wounds took six months to heal.

: It’s not the insurance’s fault it’s the providers for overcharging remember an insurance company wants and has to make money to say in business many would love to help everyone but it’s impossible cause of greedy doctors and companies wanting to overcharge for their services and pharmaceutical
