Have these studies taken into account that in languages such as German, Dutch or English we have to wait until the end of the sentence to know what is meant, since prepositions can vary the meaning of the verb, while in Spanish or Italian the meaning of the sentence is known almost at the beginning of it?

I think neurodivergent people are more likely to “interrupt” but it’s not actually interrupting it’s collaborating. When some speak it’s a collaborative thing and when most neurotypicals speak it’s more of a performance. First you perform, then I respond, then I perform.

My parents are immigrants and I was raised in Sweden and this is so noticable and annoying… even though I know my parents were raised in a totally different culture but even then I can’t help but perceive them as rude sometimes

It also has to do with the structure of the language. In German and Dutch for example, the most important verb is often found at the end of a sentence. So if you interrupt someone, you often won't be able to guess what they were going to say, like in Latin languages that have all important info in the beginning of the sentence.

me, an Italian who has moved to Sweden, watching this: 🥲
I also noticed that culture also effects how loud you speak. For example there is a joke that you can always hear American first before you see them but many cultures share this. On the other hand others are more quite especially in public

NYC is like -.5 sec, we talk over each other in agreement. We show we are paying attention by jumping in and finishing a thought.

Think this also may apply to different parts of a country. In Southern Sweden the pauses probably are shorter than in the Northern part.
