When I quit smoking, I replaced it with candy. Since I knew that was unhealthy, I replaced it with dehydrated(mango/apples/pineapple) or frozen fruiti(grapes, pineapple, cherries, etc). You can always put a little stevia on them if they aren’t quite sweet enough

It’s hard because it is required to sustain us. We must have it to live. Versus other addictions you do not need it to live. I have major trigger foods I can’t bring into my house.

No this was genuinely my life living at my moms house w junk food and she would push it even when I asked her politely not to, and I always compared it to alcoholism and your mom is trying to make you drink

I wouldn’t say I was an “addict”, but I used to crave sugar more than normal. My best friend was in camp for an mma fight and she couldn’t eat sugar for 6 weeks, so I decided I would do it with her to support her. We both love love love food! The only sugar I allowed myself was 1 piece of fruit per day. The first like 10 days was BRUTAL. I cried multiple times. I had headaches daily and felt just irritable and all I could think about was sweet stuff. After a couple weeks, it was shockingly easy! By the time the 6 weeks was up, her and I had a snickers together and it tasted like shit. It was bizarre! This was years ago, and I’ve never gone back to eating the amount of sweets I used to. I don’t crave it at all. If there’s dessert to be had, I take a few bites and I’m satisfied. It’s freeing!
