This actually happened to me. Single dad, little girl about 4. She refused to go alone, he did not want to take her into the nasty men's restroom. He was polite, apologetic, and desperate. I said, I got you. I stood at the door, let any lady know so they could choose if they wanted to go in or not. They were in and out in about 5 minutes.

I wish every place had a “family” bathroom with the single stall. That would solve the problem entirely.

I had a young man stop and ask me for help because the men's room didn't have a changing table. I walked back into the restroom and asked if anyone was uncomfortable with him coming in to change the baby. No one minded. Ended up with everyone cooing over the precious baby and fussing about no table in men's room.

I'd check out the restroom, then stand at the door and let other ladies wanting to use the RR that a father is helping his kid potty. I'd not never offer to help take a kid, they need to have thier bottoms wiped, that's a big nope for me. I wipe my own family kid's bottoms but not stranger's kids.

Like most problems, this can easily be solved by honest, respectful communication. It's ok to say, "Girl dad, is it alright if I come in?" and then wait for a response. If someone says just a minute, you wait. I have similar concerns about my son. He's little now, but what about when he's 10. Do I leave him outside alone? Do I send him in the men's room alone? I certainly can't ask a random man to take him the way a man can ask a woman to take a girl.

Came upon a dad at a sporting event who was unsure what to do in this situation. I stood at the door where the dad could see me, I could see his daughter. I figured that way everyone involved was comfortable. No family bathroom at this time, was many years ago. If a girl dad announced himself & made sure all was ok for him to enter it wouldn’t bother me, but that’s my opinion, they’d have to abide by anyone who wasn’t comfortable.

I will personally stand guard at the door, while dad goes inside with his daughter. That way, they’re protected and other women won’t be surprised. Always ask a woman.

Since women's restrooms have closed stalls only, I've never felt uncomfortable seeing a man escort his daughter in. A dad escorting his daughter is a GOOD MAN and I have no fear of him being in my space. I wish more accommodations were available for dads so that they didn't have to feel uncomfortable with their options.

Family bathrooms are great and I understand not even trusting other women my husband would not asking another woman to check with my daughter knowing women can be inappropriate too. So I like the idea of giving a dad some help with checking the bathroom and telling him if it's clear to bring her in and letting other people know he's in there with his child

This was absolutely the advice I gave to my ex. Women's bathrooms have stalls and men's rooms don't. I don't think it's appropriate if it can be avoided. But at this point when we're letting anyone in the women's room this is the least of our worries.

I'll even stand by the door while a dad is in there with his daughter to let others know they're just finishing up...that way each person entering can make an informed decision before walking in there.

I have 3 girls. when they were small I would take them in the men's room but I would tell some one going in, hey if anyone is in there let them know I'm bringing in my daughter, or I would pop in and say hey my daughter is coming in. I don't know about to day but you would see a bathroom clear out fast😂. Even had dads offer to stand outside the door to stop other men from coming in

I took my kids to the men’s room when the women’s was closed (3 year old needed to go) anyway a man made sure it was empty and stood at the door so no one else was going in until we walked out ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
