Just personally, I’m tired of paying the company’s portion of the person’s wage. Companies better start paying their employees what they’re worth. They will never do that until people quit taking the jobs and depending on tips.

As a general rule, If I stand, I don’t tip. I tip for table service and food delivery to the house. Also will trip on rare occasion that I need help at hotel with getting luggage up to room. Coffee, pastry, yogurt, fast food, no way am I tipping.

I only tip if I’m being waited on, and then it’s 5%. Wages went up, costs went up so now I can’t afford more than that. Plus we eat out less often as well. So…

I agree if a latte or cappuccino is made well, I’ll tip. Yet not if it’s a Togo order or self serve.

If I walk up, order, stand and wait for my food and then leave to eat it at home…. No tip! Only for delivery of food to table and continued good service at said table. Anyone else asking for a tip is not going to like the tip I will give them (it’s verbal).
