@chinaminutes: Beijing recently staged the first-ever World Humanoid Robot Games, bringing together more than 500 robots from 280 teams across 16 countries. The week-long event, held in August 2025 at Shougang Park, featured competitions designed to test balance, agility and practical use. Events included soccer, sprinting, boxing and martial arts, as well as tasks like sorting medical supplies and cleaning. Unitree Robotics dominated the competition, winning 11 medals including four golds in the 400m dash, 1,500m race, 100m hurdles, and the 4×100m relay. The X-Humanoid team from the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Centre followed with 10 medals and two golds, including the 100m sprint and materials handling. Another standout was Tiangong Ultra, clocking 21.50 seconds in the 100m race. In robot football, Tsinghua University’s Hephaestus team beat Germany’s HTWK Robotics and Nao Devils 1–0 to win the 5v5 title, while China Agricultural University’s Mountain & Sea team took the 3v3 crown. Despite frequent falls and awkward stumbles, many robots managed to complete events with surprising precision. Organisers said the Games will be held annually, highlighting China’s ambition to lead in humanoid robotics and AI. • • • #worldrobotgames #china #robot #highlights #ai
