I’m UK here..I follow you..I’m confused on two points…15 children in class year 5..not sending in class supplies? ..Our year 5 at least 30 children in class..but never in a million years would we expect to send supplies..our Government sorts that.

What I don’t like is I got my kids school supplies he brings home a folder. This a homework folder and It’s not even the folder I purchased for him. The teacher talking about she is recycling. From last year. Ok well give it to a kid that needs it mine child has all the supplies she ask for

I live in Louisiana and there are so many organizations that give out FREE school supplies. My grandson school sends a list of needed supplies with there final report card. It gives the parents all summer long to get there school supplies.

The teacher needs to send a note home to all the parents that didn't send supplies and let them know their child won't be able to participate in learning because they don't have supplies. Maybe that will make them send some.

As a teacher I always have extra stuff because I know I’ll have a few kids who will have nothing all year despite how many times we send emails etc

It's all about priorities. When we grew up there were no free give aways, but our parents made sure you had your supplies. They are same folks that will buy a pair of $200 sneakers...make it make sense!

its the new norm but i bet they was in miami getting bbls the outside with vibes with frontals and etc but here i go i spent $250 on supplies and that was 2nd 3rd and 4th grade sad excuse of a parent

the parents not sending supplies are not doing so because things are expensive. they dont do it, because they know someone else will. PERIOD. start charging the students account and if it doesnt get paid, their kid dont move up in grades. if there are no consequences, they will never learn.
