this is so real but I don't like that endometriosis to male balding example because male balding is such a simple issue compared to that so of course more studies are going to be done on it. not saying there still isn't bias in the academic world but that isn't really a fair comparison

THATS WHY IM TRYING TO BE A CLINICAL RESEARCHER IS PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY (not exactly the body but more so with mental health) BUT ILL DO IT FOR THE LADIES 💪

The people who say “Women’s bodies are too complicated to study!” Are all ignorant. You study BECAUSE it’s different than the male body. You study BECAUSE you don’t know. It’s NOT an option to put people at risk because you didn’t care to LEARN.

Feel free to correct if yk more but i read somewhere that most exresices are mostly working for male bodies and female bodies could benefit more from different kind of sport moves but for example in schools they use the norm (the better for male bodies) but idk much about this😭

REAL. i was on a depressant medication for my adhd for like 2 years and i got horrible debilitating side affects from it but i was prescribed it anyways because the side affects were common in women and the only ones mentioned are the ones that affect men....

It’s true that historically medical research focused more on men, but that’s changed a lot. Since the 1990s, women are required to be included in trials, and there’s now huge research on female health beyond reproduction (heart disease, pain, PCOS, menopause, etc) Medicines are also tested for sex-specific side effects (like the sleep drug Ambien being adjusted for women). Feeling ignored by doctors can happen, but that’s not unique to women, it’s more about the condition than the gender. So it’s not accurate to say women are ignored in medicine today✌️

i seriously can’t believe the men in these comments the reason they’re so uneducated on this is because of their privelidge that the only people who were studied are white men
