@tawnyplatis: Voice actor doing every classic hollywood voice impression of the archetypes and speech patterns that defined old movies 💕which one is your favorite? What do you want to see next? These characters were brought to life by actors like golden age stars like Joan Crawford, Bette Davis & Rosalind Russell and feature the Wise-Cracking Dame, Dream Girl, Femme Fatale, Ingénue, Continental, Ditz, and Governess I lowkey used to watch Turner Classic Movies all the time as a kid and into my teen years and it further cemented my love of film and cinema. I’d mimic the lines of the actors in the movies I’d watch and even memorize the entire scripts. I particularly loved Bette Davis movies and thought she was an absolute master at the craft. What are some of your favorite classic movies from old Hollywood? #impressions #voiceactor #movies #accent #filmtok

I know language and accents come and go, but I've always been a little puzzled that the transatlantic accent died out so completely.

Can you talk about Audrey Hepburn’s accent? Hers was soo unique, even different from her mother. Her T’s always sounded like D’s.

You could remake a 50s movie, or film noir, with you playing all the parts, and it'd be a hit! 😲

for some reason they all seem sexist but i guess that’s just the context of when those accents are spoken

Voice actors fascinated me—I feel like I’m way too shy/scared to manipulate my voice like that.

ok... [cracks knuckles] let's see what we got: Katherine Hepburn/Better Davis, Mitzi Gaynor/Jean Hagen, Julie Andrews (and to a point, Margaret Dumont😇), Barbara Stanwyck/Rosalind Russell, Judy Garland/Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner/Lauren Bacall, Greta Garbo/Marlene Dietrich, and Carol Lombard/Mae West. How'd I do?😅

I’m trying to place my diction idol, Eve Arden. She was so often the best friend, but her speech was always so perfectly clear. She was not a fast-talking dame. She nearly drawled her brilliant sarcasm. She wasn’t quite the governess either, despite playing a high school English teacher on radio & tv. For those too young to remember Our Miss Brooks, she was the principal of Ryder High in Grease. Christine Baranski seems the closest of contemporary actors to her elegant style.

My first thought was how Lee Meriwether swapped between a variation of the femme fatale and Continental accents for the Batman movie.

I don’t know why I enjoyed this so much, but I did… I watched it twice! Maybe because I love old movies. 🙏❤️😁
