JUNK THE BLOCK. Cracks will still proper gate down into the block due to bad metal.

Bad foundry pour. Pinning it might work. 🤔 I'd take the loss and scrape it.

Have the 5.9 "53" block. Crack in water jacket external leak. Stick welded the exterior while still in the truck and it's been holding. Pain to get at, but it still works. DIY. Nothing to loose. Can't afford to do it right at this point. Happy with the results

Master welder 45 years is that aluminum or cast I can try to fix it, but you’re gonna pay me for my time no guarantee

Why don’t you use a torque plate while boring ?. Torquing a head down slightly changes the shape of the metal
