@jack.broom.elevate: 🎶 Read your record label contracts carefully. Especially in underground dance music. In my 15 years managing artists, I’ve seen some very common (and very restrictive) clauses in Underground electronic label contracts. Here are 3 to look out for: ⚠ Third-party compilations – Some deals let labels add your track to comps without asking. You should have approval—this shapes your early image. ⚠ Future release clauses – Watch for “first refusal” or “options” on your next tracks. Some labels can take up to 12 months to decide or even lock you into 10 more tracks. ⚠ Expenses transparency – Always ask for itemised costs (artwork, marketing, mastering) so you know where the budget’s going. 💬 Seen any of these in a contract?
