My child psychologist said it was called enclosed or security sleeping and it's a way to make themselves feel comfortable and secure. he suggested I get a sleeping bag and a bed tent or curtain because the sleeping bag fully hugs them and it makes him feel secure and comfortable and then the tent is a little bit more darkness and it's controllable. but kids will find a way to make themselves comfortable no matter what. Heck put some glow in the dark sticker stars inside there and call it a day

I used to do the same thing as a kid. I don't know why, but sleeping in a fort or in an enclosed space makes you feel more secure.

As an autistic person with autistic children, getting bed tents are awesome if you want to have the tiny human sleep in the bed. A lot of autistic children like enclosed dark places to sleep because there’s less external stimulus.

this is a child that sees tight spaces as safe spaces not sayinging walls house is a bad environment but that's how it was for me its found somewhere dark and closed off to feel safe some people just naturally are pulled to cramped spaces others use them to escape and some just see them as a place to calm themselves people who do this get judged when they shouldn't everyone has they're cozy or calming techniques
