Charging an EV is time consuming? You clearly haven’t waited in line at Costco for gasoline.

I hope we don't abandon EV tech. it has so much more potential compared to internal combustion engines, even with its short term drawbacks.

Eventually, apartments and rentals are going to put in the infrastructure for overnight charging and that's really going to increase adoption

We weren't meant to transition directly from gas to EV. The infrastructure, the range, the charging speeds aren't there. Plug-in hybrids have always been the best way to ease our way into EVs and they'll become huge sellers in the next few years.

if it could go from empty to full as fast as a gas powered car, then I'd be for it. and I am not installing a charging station where I live

Where the hell can you get a Prologue for that? In Canada they're $190 per week! not cheap at all.

until they fix battery degradation i will never consider one. the idea of losing ~25% of its range over 5 years is annoying

Really just comes down to technology and infrastructure. A lot of oil companies have lobbied against EVs because it can hurt their bottom lines. In a country like China EVs are the standard and charging is quick and abundant here there’s rarely any public charging even in urban areas

Being able to "fill up" at home is really one the best parts of owning an EV. You also don't need as much charging power at home as you think... an efficient EV, like a Model 3, can get ~4 miles an hour off a 120v socket. With overnight charging this can cover the daily driving of a lot of people. Even a simple 240v/20a circuit (which can be run on 12/2 romex) will suffice for a LOT of people and be workable even if you are limited with 100A service. Many chargers are available with power sharing for multi vehicle setups. The Tesla Wall Connector can do this out of the box; multiple wall connectors can share a single circuit and split available power.

Agreed! The infrastructure still not there… zero interest in getting an EV anytime soon. 😫
