FOR ANYBODY WONDERING, I learned how to do this from some tv show. Probably scam school or the like. Basically, by pinning the forks together like that and placing the toothpick where it is between them it is perfectly at their center of mass. Then when you put the whole thing on the salt shaker toothpick, it won’t get knocked over because that’s where the center of mass is, and the forks are lower than the toothpick, so the potential energy isn’t that high either because it’s not trying to get lower.
