The check valve is the plastic piece that is connected to by your power brake booster. If you pull it out of the booster you should hear the sound of air for maybe a second after you pull it out sometimes requires a little effort. The booster stores engine vacuum to help with your power brake assist. Master ASE Certified Technician

Vacuum booster needs vacuum. Big cams drop manifold vacuum, you need a vacuum pump to assist it

Daddy took the check valve out but add one in and see if it helps. Also probably didn’t help there was zero fluid in the system at the time and we never bled them 😂

A lot have said it you put a cam in it that lowers vacuum pressure making it harder for the brakes to work you will need to increase vacuum with a better pump or retro fit a hydo boost system to keep the brakes going

Sounds like the engine is not producing enough vacuum or you’ve got a bad booster check valve just swapping a Hydro boost

due to the cam and tune your not getting enough vacuum. you need to swap to hydro boost. it requires a different power steering pump as well as a different brake booster.

need to add a check valve or a vacuum pump it's due to the camming is raising and lowering the vacuum instead of keeping constant vacuum pressure. may be able to add a vacuum canister

Usually when you put an aftermarket cam on a motor you will loose pressure on the vacuum hose. People put an electric vacuum pump to ensure the brakes still work as they should
