It’s a smart move. Because even MCU directors weren’t caught up with what happened previously which made the stories even bizarre at times. The writers for MoM admitted they didn’t even know what happened on WandaVision..

After phase 4, Kevin Fauge admitted there was too much quantity of content being released and it wasn't enough quality. So he focused on quality over quantity next.Ever since then we've been getting good quality MCU movies with Deadpool 3 Thunderbolts, and FF as examples. The future of both the MCU and DCU is very bright and exciting in my opinion. Plus the MCU won't feel so exoansive e after the reboot that's happening after Secret Wars

lol this is exactly wha marvel did. Nothing in iron man was about Thanatos. All the earlier movies were self contained universes. That’s how you start. You literally just explained the beginning. At some point the DCU will start to cross over too different movies. they even setup the Justice gang and superman cousin in this movie.
