Let’s talk blue light, hormones, and why these yellow-tinted glasses matter more than you think. Most women don’t realize this, but the lighting in conference centers, offices, and even our homes creates a massive spike of blue light, what my friend here calls “alien light.” That spike can: - Trigger headaches - Make you feel overstimulated - Disrupt your melatonin - Create free radical damage - And completely throw off your sleep + hormone rhythm Here’s the key: 1. Clear glasses don’t block enough. They filter out about 0.02% of blue light. 2. Yellow-tinted lenses block ~40%. This keeps your body in a calmer, more parasympathetic state during the day without making you sleepy. 3. Orange lenses are for nighttime only because they block 99% of blue light and help your body make melatonin. And this matters because…melatonin is your master antioxidant. Anti-aging. Anti-inflammatory. Anti-cancer. It’s a big deal. So here’s the cheat sheet: - Get morning sunlight in your eyes → sets your melatonin rhythm - Wear yellow lenses indoors during the day - Switch to orange lenses after sunset - Avoid bright overhead lights and late-night phone scrolling Your hormones, your sleep, and your nervous system will thank you. The glasses I am wearing and am a HUGE fan of are from @DREAMWALKERZ Check the link in my bio under “Jana Loves These Brands” and save on yours!
