Similar to a traffic ticket, signing a write-up is merely confirming that you *received* it, it is NOT an admission of guilt. However, if that is not clear on the form itself, I totally get why the temptation is there to refuse. Erica's advice is spot on and the best way to protect yourself though.

I disagree about the attachment. There is no guarantee that the attachment will stay with said write up.!! instead I would start my explanation down at the bottom of the page and go to the back of the page. get copies , Then you are guaranteed when it’s in your file that your statement is with it!!

I love signing in opposition. ive spent a couple of ours making them watch me hand write a statement. then I read it to them at the end. u want to waste my time, im happy to waste yours.
