PRO TIP FROM SOMEONE THAT GOT IT FIRST TRY: send in ALL your paperwork. And I mean ALL OF IT. If a teacher even mentions that you were a little hyper one day on a report card send it. Overwhelm them. Flood their fax machine and po box. Call them constantly and ask for status updates. Be annoying, bc then they won’t want to deny you to deal with you for another year. Also always call ur local SSA office and not the main line they will reach you sooner. There’s also been a problem with it being transferred to not ur local office on purpose to deter ppl from trying, but if u talk to the robot and say “call local office “ it will send u down a line of messaging to the right number, or just keep calling until u do

Had a breakdown during my hearing cause of my severe anxiety and could barely speak and my lawyer guy said “oh yeah her grandfather just died this morning” in response to that. It was my mom’s cousins father who we were living with who died and I wasn’t close to him at all so it didn’t phase me. Got denied cause of that 😬

I’m on disability for being legally blind and I’ve been fighting them since 2023 cuz there trying to say I’m not blind anymore and since I’m not a new case there are almost no lawyers in my state that takes my kind of case. It’s nice knowing I’m not the only one and I just hope it gets better for all of us 💀❤️

if you get denied please don't give up they expect you to, you have to appeal the denial until they give in - at least where i live, make sure you look it up for your state!

My spine is fusing together and I was abused by my insurance which accelerated my AS. I still haven't had disability income of any kind since I was fired for requesting disability accommodations in the pandemic. I'm so tired.

Had SSI for 3yrs, they said I got better, things got so much worse two years later reapplied and got approved 1month after i submitted the application. Dont lose hope

sleeping 16 hours a day... screaming in the middle of the night... unable to tolerate the cpap machine... severe memory problems and erratic behavior... seven psych/sedative medications... diagnosed with audhd... ptsd... did... sleep apnea... persistent depression... generalized anxiety... and mood disregulation disorder... still denied... i have a lawyer now and im working on my appeal... good luck with your case...
