there are very few reactions more efficient than nuclear fission the 2 that come to mind are nuclear fusion which is currently being developed and Matter-Antimatter annihilation which doesn't seem to have any non military applications and is almost impossible given our current energy levels

You are missing the fact it is significantly more expensive to build the first reactor vs the 22nd. Thats why India can do it. Maybe if we started nuclear 60 years ago it would stack up here too. But we didn’t and it doesn’t

India’s reactors are decades old, heavily subsidised, and their new nuclear builds are years late + billions over budget. If nuclear was ‘cheap’, Australia’s private sector would be lining up. Instead, they’re building solar + wind at 1/5th the cost.

Just because India has nuclear energy doesn’t mean it’s cheaper that’s why you won’t tell us the price. We have plenty of coal and plenty of land for solar so why would we built nuclear power plants to provide energy at four times the cost?
